Prof. Nam C. Woo of Yonsei University in South Korea Pays Us A Visit

        On 14th January, 2011, Prof. Nam C. Woo of Yonsei University in South Korea paid a visit to our institute, vice president Liu Chunping, Chibaoming warmly welcomed him on behalf of the school. Both parties carried out academic exchange activity. Jiang Jiyi, vice dean of Office of International Cooperation and Exchange, and Gao Ergen, dean of Department of Earthquake Sciences, and all teachers in groundwater sciences and engineering took part in the activity.
        During the exchange, Prof. Nam C. Woo made a report on the abnormality of groundwater in Wenchuan earthquake, and had a heated yet friendly discussion over coseismic effects with the teachers, in addition, both sides had reached a mutual intention of future cooperation.

        Afterwards, accompanied by staff of OICE, Prof. Nam C. Woo visited Ming Tombs Seismic Observatory, he studied the general setting, monitoring scope and functioning mechanism, and complimented the achievements made by China.
